Tender and Pricing Documents
The financial corner stone of every project is the pricing
document.
This can take many forms
All have a role to play and are suited to different
applications. GNA are skilled at producing suitable and accurate
pricing documents for client tenders and contractor pricing
alike.
A detailed pricing document for a complete building project.
The document comprises an extensive list of items that consist
of both specification and quantity against which a contractor
inserts his rates to compile a tender for the project. The
document is produced in strict accordance with industry agreed
rules to provide a consistent and recognisable approach. The
reason for such detail and consistency is to generate contactor
prices that are directly comparable and thus ensuring best value
for money. The level of detail included requires that B of Q’s
take time, together with skill and expertise to compile. The
benefits to clients are however on-site cost control and value
for money.
Similar to B of Q’s but less detailed and better suited to
smaller simpler projects. Items are still provided in a
specification and quantity format. They still provide benefits
in terms of value and cost control but are quicker and therefore
cheaper to produce.
Similar to schedules of works and are commonly used by
contracting organisation to prepare tender costs on design and
build projects.
These are detailed descriptions of works against which the
contractor is required to insert his prices. The main difference
is that the contractor is required to produce his own
quantities.
These documents are required by design and build contracts.
They are produced by the client’s representative, the Employers
Agent, spell out clearly what the client expects from the design
in terms of function, performance and quality. ER documents contain
no quantities so each tendering contractor must produce his own
for pricing purposes
