CDM Regulations 2007

The main changes implemented in CDM 2007

  • More responsibility placed on the Client
  • Client now has to sign HSE notice (F10)
  • Greater emphasis on Client to assess competence and resource
  • Greater emphasis on Client to allow sufficient time for planning and co-ordination
  • Removal of the 5 or more people on site application category
  • Planning Supervisor becomes CDM Co-ordinator
  • Pre Tender Plan becomes the Pre Construction Information Pack
  • Contractor no longer signs the F10
  • Designers must ensure that buildings comply with the Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

The Regulations apply to

  • All construction work carried out on construction sites
  • Any construction work by way of alteration, extension, refurbishment, demolition, of existing buildings or premises.
  • Additionally, construction work that will take more than 30 days or 500 man days must be notified to HSE.

The Regulations do not apply to

  • Construction work carried out for domestic clients
